Special Application Products was formed in 1992 in order to provide specialty lighting to the machine vision and microscopy industries. Appointed as UK and Ireland distributor for Stocker-Yale illumination products including high frequency fluorescent and LED lighting. | |||||

Growth in the image capture market demanded a wider range of specialty LED lighting and in 1998 SAP became the UK and Ireland distributor for Metaphase Technologies. | |||||
|
With the introduction of new generation High Brightness LEDs to the machine vision market, SAP was Appointed European Master Distributor by Spectrum Illumination. |

August 2004 - Additional business and equipment required a move of premises to a new facility at Unit 1E The Gattinetts, East Bergholt, Suffolk. SAP can now offer a very wide range of vision lighting. |

August 2006 - Due to continual growth, we are on the move again to an even larger premises. We are located at Unit 5, Manor Farm Business Centre, Stutton, Suffolk. This move will enable us to enhance our customers service as well as provide a demonstration/showroom facility for all of our Machine Vision products. | |||||

April 2009 - Realignment of business to enable continued growth in the Machine Vision component sector. | |||||
